Scholarships

AAGT is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for teachers and students.

Teacher Scholarships
Teacher scholarships are designed for those seeking G/T certification or recertification and must be used for college tuition for that specific purpose. The scholarships will fund 50% of the course tuition, not to exceed the amount of $500. Teacher applicants must be AAGT members in good standing. Awards will be first come, first served with priority to first time applicants and teachers in rural districts. In an effort to distribute funds equally across the state, AAGT will fund a maximum of two teachers per year from a single district.

Application packets should include the AAGT application, a letter explaining the reason for the request, current teaching assignment, and experience with gifted and talented students. A completed packet should include a copy of the registration materials/course description for which the scholarship is sought.

If a scholarship is awarded, the funds will be disbursed to the teacher upon receipt of proof of completion for the approved course.

Student Scholarships
Student scholarships are designed for those gifted and talented students who wish to attend academic or artistic programs during the summer months. The scholarships are for $100 and are available for students, K-12. Student applicants must be sponsored by an AAGT member. The application packet should include the AAGT student application, a letter of recommendation from the sponsor, and copies of the summer program description and registration materials.

Conference Scholarships
Conference scholarships are designed to encourage teachers and parents who are new to AAGT to attend one of our conference events. They are for AAGT members and first time conference attendees. Conference Scholarship Applications are accepted and processed on a first come, first served basis.
